DESCRIPTION:Tiny Trekkers | March (Tues) | March Madness\n\n\n\nTiny Trekkers classes are designed to create a foundation of love and respect for the natural world. Active play in nature between caregivers and children provides lasting impressions. Join a Ridges Sanctuary educator in gentle hiking\, songs\, and endless possibilities for exploration and experimentation.  \n\n\n\nThis program is suitable for caregivers and children walking-3 years old. Programs are held on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10-11:15AM. There is a new session each month consisting of 3 or 4 programs depending on holiday schedules.  \n\n\n\nClass will meet at different locations on The Ridges properties each week\, allowing trekkers and caregivers to explore new habitats. Every week\, the teacher will email all families registered for the class with the meeting location. Please check your email regularly for updates from Ridges teachers! \n\n\n\nCost per caregiver and child duo is $10 per class (must register for entire session). Siblings are welcome to join as long as they are not disruptive of the Trekkers class. If an additional child will be joining you\, an additional $5 fee per class applies. Please register all additional children (siblings) over the age of 1! \n\n\n\nThe Tuesday March session of Tiny Trekkers explores March Madness. This session is offered on Tuesdays from 3/3-3/24. We’ll head out on the trails to learn about the history of The Ridges\, explore some winter adaptations\, search for animal tracks\, and more! If conditions allow\, we will utilize snowshoes for our hike. Snowshoes are available to rent from the Nature Store for $5 per pair. Suitable for all ages.  \n\n\n\nFee: $10 | Members receive 20% Discount | Snowshoe rentals available for $5 per pair \n\n\n\nAccessibility Considerations: On boardwalk and rustic trails\, T-Loop system available\, snowshoes utilized if conditions allow\, boardwalk and trails may be icy.   \n\n\n\nDistance (if applicable):  ~1.5 miles  \n\n\n\nWeather is particularly unpredictable in Door County. Conditions often change on short notice. We do monitor weather conditions for hikes closely and in the case of extreme weather conditions will cancel the Guided Hike. Join a Ridges Sanctuary educator in gentle hiking\, songs\, and endless possibilities for exploration and experimentation.  \n\n\n\nThis program is suitable for caregivers and children walking-3 years old. Programs are held on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10-11:15AM. There is a new session each month consisting of 3 or 4 programs depending on holiday schedules.  \n\n\n\nClass will meet at different locations on The Ridges properties each week\, allowing trekkers and caregivers to explore new habitats. Every week\, the teacher will email all families registered for the class with the meeting location. Please check your email regularly for updates from Ridges teachers! \n\n\n\nCost per caregiver and child duo is $10 per class (must register for entire session). Join retired Professor Daniel Meinhardt\, Ph.D.\, and Curator for the Richter Museum of Natural History\, for a workshop on scientific illustration. Learn the importance of scientific illustration\, why and how it can be used today\, and try out techniques using a variety of materials to create different effects. You’ll also begin your own illustration of an object of your choosing. Students will be given all the necessary supplies to participate in this workshop but may choose to bring their own object to illustrate.
