DESCRIPTION:Tiny Trekkers | September (Tues)\n\n\n\nThis program is for caregivers and children who are walking through 3 years old. Tiny Trekkers is designed to create a foundation of love and respect for the natural world. Active play in nature between caregivers and children provides lasting impressions. Join a Ridges Sanctuary educator in gentle hiking\, songs\, and endless possibilities for exploration and experimentation.  \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\nTiny Trekkers class meets weekly on either Tuesdays or Fridays from 10:00 am – 11:15 am. The class is broken up into monthly sessions\, running from September – May. Each session of Tiny Trekkers is 3 or 4 classes\, depending on the month and holidays. \n\n\n\nCaregivers should sign up for EITHER the Tuesday or the Friday class each month! \n\n\n\nCost Per Class \n\n\n\nCost per caregiver and Tiny Trekker (walking – 3 years old) is $40 per 4-week session and $30 per 3-week session. You must register for the entire month session. Siblings 4 and older are welcome to join as long as they are not disruptive of the Trekkers class. If a sibling 4 years or older will be joining you\, an additional $20 fee per session applies. Please register all additional children who are walking or older! \n\n\n\nTrekker (walking through 3 years): $40 per session \n\n\n\nNon-Trekker Sibling (not yet walking): Free \n\n\n\nNon-Trekker Sibling (age 4 or older): $20 per session \n\n\n\nMeeting Location \n\n\n\nClass will meet at different locations on The Ridges properties each week\, allowing trekkers and caregivers to explore new habitats. Every week\, the teacher will email all families registered for the class with the meeting location. Please check your email regularly for updates from Ridges teachers! \n\n\n\nThe Tuesday September session of Tiny Trekkers explores the Five Senses. We will be working within Plot 5\, located along the Lower Trail\, about a 1-mile hike out and back. This plot is forested and has downed logs and some uneven terrain. We will provide planting tools; however\, come prepared to get dirty! DESCRIPTION:Guided Stargazing\n\n\n\nJoin a representative of the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society for a laser-guided tour of stars and constellations with some light-hearted mythology thrown in at The Ridges! A short indoor presentation will start off the evening followed by heading outdoors to see the sky. This program is a night-time program that will require hiking one mile on an uneven dirt\, sand\, and grass trail in the dark. Participants should be aware that mobility aids are not available for the hike portion of this program.  \n\n\n\nRedlight flashlights will be provided to participants.  \n\n\n\nPre-registration required. Suitable for ages 16 & up.  \n\n\n\nFee: Public $15 | Member $12 \n\n\n\nAccessibility Considerations: Night-time program\, hiking on rustic trails after dark. Trails are uneven dirt\, sand\, and grass. No mobility aids available for hike portion of the program. Standing required for stargazing portion after hike. Laser will be used for pointing out stars and constellations. Restrooms not available during outdoor portion of program. DESCRIPTION:Night Hike\n\n\n\nOwls\, bats\, and range lights\, oh my! Come explore The Ridges at night! We will learn about the creatures that become active after the sun goes down and check out The Range Lights at work as a navigational aid. (Please do not bring any flashlights\, light-up shoes\, etc. as we want our eyes to adjust to the dark and to be able to see just as the animals do at night).  \n\n\n\nThis program will meet outside of The Ridges Sanctuary Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center. Ridges staff will provide all hikers with a red flashlight for the duration of the hike. Restrooms are not available on the hike.  \n\n\n\nThese programs take place on Friday evenings\, with start times that shift earlier each month: 8:00 pm in August\, 7:00 pm in September\, 6:00 pm in October\, and 5:00 pm in November. Please check the specific date and time when registering. You are always welcome to call if you’d like to register over the phone or learn more about these experiences.  \n\n\n\nPre-registration required. DESCRIPTION:Planting Day at Logan Creek Plot 4\n\n\n\nJoin us at Logan Creek parking lot at 10:00 am – 1:00 pm for the Boreal Climate Survivability Tree Planting project\, a collaboration between the Climate Change Coalition of Door County and The Ridges Sanctuary. We will be working within Plot 4\, about a .5 mile hike out and back\, located along the Lower Trail. This plot is forested and has downed logs and some uneven terrain. We will provide planting tools however\, come prepared to get dirty! DESCRIPTION:Tiny Trekkers | September (Tues)\n\n\n\nThis program is for caregivers and children who are walking through 3 years old. Tiny Trekkers is designed to create a foundation of love and respect for the natural world. Active play in nature between caregivers and children provides lasting impressions. Join a Ridges Sanctuary educator in gentle hiking\, songs\, and endless possibilities for exploration and experimentation.  \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\nTiny Trekkers class meets weekly on either Tuesdays or Fridays from 10:00 am – 11:15 am. The class is broken up into monthly sessions\, running from September – May. Each session of Tiny Trekkers is 3 or 4 classes\, depending on the month and holidays. \n\n\n\nCaregivers should sign up for EITHER the Tuesday or the Friday class each month! \n\n\n\nCost Per Class \n\n\n\nCost per caregiver and Tiny Trekker (walking – 3 years old) is $40 per 4-week session and $30 per 3-week session. You must register for the entire month session. Siblings 4 and older are welcome to join as long as they are not disruptive of the Trekkers class. If a sibling 4 years or older will be joining you\, an additional $20 fee per session applies. Please register all additional children who are walking or older! \n\n\n\nTrekker (walking through 3 years): $40 per session \n\n\n\nNon-Trekker Sibling (not yet walking): Free \n\n\n\nNon-Trekker Sibling (age 4 or older): $20 per session \n\n\n\nMeeting Location \n\n\n\nClass will meet at different locations on The Ridges properties each week\, allowing trekkers and caregivers to explore new habitats. DESCRIPTION:Planting Day at Family Discovery Trail\n\n\n\nJoin us at our Family Discovery Trail parking lot at 10:00 am – noon for the Boreal Climate Survivability Tree Planting project\, a collaboration between the Climate Change Coalition of Door County and The Ridges Sanctuary. We will be working within Plot 2\, about a 1-mile hike out and back\, located within the meadow along the red trail. We will provide planting tools however\, come prepared to get dirty! DESCRIPTION:Tiny Trekkers | September (Tues)\n\n\n\nThis program is for caregivers and children who are walking through 3 years old. Tiny Trekkers is designed to create a foundation of love and respect for the natural world. Active play in nature between caregivers and children provides lasting impressions. Join a Ridges Sanctuary educator in gentle hiking\, songs\, and endless possibilities for exploration and experimentation.  \n\n\n\nSchedule \n\n\n\nTiny Trekkers class meets weekly on either Tuesdays or Fridays from 10:00 am – 11:15 am. The class is broken up into monthly sessions\, running from September – May. Each session of Tiny Trekkers is 3 or 4 classes\, depending on the month and holidays. \n\n\n\nCaregivers should sign up for EITHER the Tuesday or the Friday class each month! \n\n\n\nCost Per Class \n\n\n\nCost per caregiver and Tiny Trekker (walking – 3 years old) is $40 per 4-week session and $30 per 3-week session. You must register for the entire month session. Siblings 4 and older are welcome to join as long as they are not disruptive of the Trekkers class. If a sibling 4 years or older will be joining you\, an additional $20 fee per session applies. Please register all additional children who are walking or older! \n\n\n\nTrekker (walking through 3 years): $40 per session \n\n\n\nNon-Trekker Sibling (not yet walking): Free \n\n\n\nNon-Trekker Sibling (age 4 or older): $20 per session \n\n\n\nMeeting Location \n\n\n\nClass will meet at different locations on The Ridges properties each week\, allowing trekkers and caregivers to explore new habitats. Every week\, the teacher will email all families registered for the class with the meeting location. Please check your email regularly for updates from Ridges teachers! \n\n\n\nThe Tuesday September session of Tiny Trekkers explores the Five Senses.
