SUMMARY:Night Hikes
DESCRIPTION:Night Hikes\n\n\n\nOwls\, bats\, and range lights\, oh my! Come explore The Ridges at night! We will learn about the creatures that become active after the sun goes down and check out The Range Lights at work as a navigational aid. (Please do not bring any flashlights\, light-up shoes\, etc. as we want our eyes to adjust to the dark and to be able to see just as the animals do at night).  \n\n\n\nThis program will meet outside of The Ridges Sanctuary Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center. Ridges staff will provide all hikers with a red flashlight for the duration of the hike. Restrooms are not available on the hike.  \n\n\n\nThese programs take place on Friday evenings\, with start times that shift earlier each month: 8:00 pm in August\, 7:00 pm in September\, 6:00 pm in October\, and 5:00 pm in November. Please check the specific date and time when registering. You are always welcome to call if you’d like to register over the phone or learn more about these experiences.  \n\n\n\nPre-registration required. Suitable for ages 8 & up.  \n\n\n\nFee: Public $15 | Member $12 | 16 & Under $7  \n\n\n\nAccessibility Considerations: Nature Center closed\, bathrooms not available. Accessible parking. DESCRIPTION:Night Hikes\n\n\n\nOwls\, bats\, and range lights\, oh my! Come explore The Ridges at night! We will learn about the creatures that become active after the sun goes down and check out The Range Lights at work as a navigational aid. (Please do not bring any flashlights\, light-up shoes\, etc. as we want our eyes to adjust to the dark and to be able to see just as the animals do at night).  \n\n\n\nThis program will meet outside of The Ridges Sanctuary Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center. Ridges staff will provide all hikers with a red flashlight for the duration of the hike. Restrooms are not available on the hike.  \n\n\n\nThese programs take place on Friday evenings\, with start times that shift earlier each month: 8:00 pm in August\, 7:00 pm in September\, 6:00 pm in October\, and 5:00 pm in November. Please check the specific date and time when registering. You are always welcome to call if you’d like to register over the phone or learn more about these experiences.  \n\n\n\nPre-registration required. DESCRIPTION:Sanctuary Guided Hike – Ridges Pollinators\n\n\n\nJoin a naturalist for an exploration of The Ridges Sanctuary. We’ll head out on the trails to learn about the history of The Ridges\, the unique features of the Sanctuary habitats\, and what makes the Sanctuary the most biologically diverse area in Wisconsin!  \n\n\n\nEach month’s guided hike follows a theme focusing on unique aspects of the Sanctuary:  \n\n\n\nAugust: Ridges Pollinators \n\n\n\nPollinators are a crucial part of our ecosystems! Learn about a few pollinators of The Ridges and the importance of their habitats like The Ridges.   \n\n\n\nThis 90-minute guided hike includes a tour of our Upper Range Light\, which has been restored to the period of the last Range Light Keeper. Suitable for all ages. \n\n\n\nAccessibility Considerations: Program takes place outside on boardwalk and rustic trails. Accessible parking is available. Bathrooms are available prior to the hike starting. T-coil system available. \n\n\n\nDistance: Approximately 1 mile \n\n\n\nPlease Note:  \n\n\n\n\nAll participants\, including children\, must be registered for the hike.\n\n\n\nOur capacity for Guided Hikes is 15 people. This allows for a safe and enjoyable experience on the Sanctuary trails. If you have a group over 15\, please call The Ridges to request a private hike. \n\n\n\nIf you are not able to purchase tickets for everyone in your group\, this means the guided hike is FULL.
