Join Dr. Karen Murchie, Director of Freshwater Research at Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, to learn about migratory fishes. Dr. Murchie’s research program is focused on suckers, which are an important native species in the Great Lakes. Karen will share how she uses technology as well a an incredible network of volunteers across three states, to fill in the knowledge gaps for these animals.

The Ridges honors its history of accessible and impactful conservation education through Lake Lessons. These Thursday evening programs feature topics about the Great Lakes and surrounding habitats. Lake Lessons are free, and held from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm at the Cook-Fuller Nature Center
